Christmas Shopping Day
Saturday 3rd December 2011
Christmas can be a stressful time of year.
With all the running around, buying gifts and arranging to visit family.
This year Gingerbread would like to help.
We will be open on Saturday 3rd December
for those who pre-book the day.
Places are limited.
For further details please contact the office for details.
Children In Need is on Friday 18th of November, we will be helping to raise money by having many different spotty activities throughout the nursery. Please inform us ahead of time if you want to book an extra session that day. (First come, first served!)
Observers room will be wearing pyjamas. Discoverers room will be having a spotty day and a Teddy bears picnic. Explorers room will be wearing pyjamas and will make special spotty cookies to sell, yum! Adventurers room will be dressing up as Pudsey bear and having a cake sale.
All the children in the nursery will be producing fabulous works of art which will be displayed in our Garden House, for parents to purchase.
We can’t wait to start raising lots of money and having lots of fun!

There will be a professional photographer here at Gingerbread House on the 16th November to take lovely pictures of all your children (and yourselves if you wish..!). These will make great Christmas presents.
The photographer will be here from 9am to 6pm but later appointments are available so long as they are prebooked.

Gingerbread House will be holding its annual
Firework display on Friday 4th November 2011.
Spectators should arrive at nursery for 6.30pm. The display will be starting at 7.00pm.
On arriving at the nursery please make your way into the large garden area. Please ensure the area near the gate is clear to enable other spectators to pass by.
Car parking is very limited so please either leave cars behind or park in St Peter and Pauls Church car park. The nursery car park will be closed for all vehicles, for Health and Safety reasons.
Remember to wrap up warm with coats, hats, gloves and scarves.

Here at Gingerbread House we have a number of events coming up on our calender.

'Wear it Pink' day.
Gingerbread House will be supporting Breast cancer awareness week.
We are asking for everyone to wear an item of 'Pink' clothing and donate £1.
Monday 31st October 2011
Halloween parties.
On Monday afternoon all the rooms in the nursery will be holding their own fancy dress Halloween parties.
Children who donot attend the setting on the Monday are welcome to come along, with a parent.
Friday 4th November 2011
Firework Display.
Its our annual Firework display night.
Fireworks will start at 7.00pm.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
October Half Term is fast approaching.

Please collect your booking forms from either the office or Out of School Staff.

We would like to invite the parents/carers to
meet the practitioners in the rooms,
view your child's learning journey and
ask questions about the EYFS.
We have also invited a selection of local Primary schools in the area. Please feel free to talk to the teachers and find out more information about the future schools your child could attend.

Harvest Festival at Gingerbread House.
Harvest will take place this week.
We have created a warm Harvest display in the reception area of the nursery.
Please donate non perishable food items to Our display.
All items collected by the nursery will be donated to the local church
on Friday 29th September 2011.

In September 2011
Gingerbread House will be holding EYFS Evenings for all parents.
Here at Gingerbread House we follow the Government framework for children aged 0-5 years.
This Framework is called the Early Years Foundation Stage.
As part of this framework the practitioners at Gingerbread House observe and track the development of the children in our care.
The EYFS Evenings will provide all parents with the oppourtunity to meet with your child's Key-worker and view their learning journey.
More information will be sent out via email to all parents/carers.
It's bank holiday weekend.
Liverpool will be hosting a variety of events including
The Matthew Street Festival.
There will be lots of live shows and music events for everyone to enjoy.
Please take a look at the Gingerbread House notice board,
for more family fun events in Liverpool.
A BIG well done to all the children and staff, for taking part in the Graduation on Saturday

Adventurers Graduation 2011
On Saturday 13th August Gingerbread House will be holding a Graduation Ceremony for the Preschool children leaving to go to Reception.
The Graduation will be taking place at St Peter and Paul's Function Room.
Seats are limited to 2 tickets per Graduating Child. This is due to the large number of children.
Please can all children be dropped off at the function room at 10.00am. This is to enable us to have a small dress rehersal.
The doors to the function room will not be open to guests until 11.00am.
The ceremony will beging shortly after 11.15am.
We look forward to seeing you all there.

'Toddle Waddle'
Friday 8th July 2011.
Gingerbread House will be taking part in the charity Barnardo's annual 'Toddle' event at Chester zoo.
The Adventurers and some Explorers
will be dressing up as animals and spending the day walking around Chester zoo.
Letters have been given out by the setting.
We are leaving the Gingerbread House just after 9am and will be
returning from the zoo at 3.30pm.
Please ensure all payments for the event are in by the end of
W.c 20.06.2011
